Taking part at the Irish Guards Medal Ceremony

Hi everyone. :) Because of my University studies, I had to stay away for a little in the last days, and I missed a few very very important posts. Luckily, having my computer with me, I had the chance to take all the possible informations to update the blog. I've also taken the decision to start posting in italian also, which is my mother language, but I guess I will need some time before my English/Italian double version posts get to be a reality.

So guys!!! As you already know for sure, Will and Kate are in Canada right now. But before leaving, they took part at this important ceremony held at the Victoria Barracks on June 25th in Windsor (England).

I was able to find a few quotes from William's speech:
"I am humbled by the thought of the sacrifices that you and your families have made and the losses that you have suffered - all in the service of our country."
"I can only imagine what the campaign medals you receive today must mean to you. Over the years and decades ahead when you look at this medal, I'm sure it will bring back so many conflicting memories.
"Along with thousands of others back home, I followed your tour in Afghanistan with a mounting sense of awe.
"Sadness for those who did not return, and thoughts of their families who received their Elizabeth Crosses today.
"Respect for the sacrifices of our wounded whom we are all so pleased to see here on parade, gratitude to your families for supporting you through the impossible pressures that service life sometimes imposes.
"And pride at being part of a battalion that rose to the challenge of operations in such a magnificent way."

I was also lucky enough to find this:
A royal aide said the duchess was pleased to be performing the role for a regiment "so close to her husband's heart". About 400 Irish Guards received medals during the ceremony, with the duke and duchess taking time to speak to each one. Before the medal parade, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge held private meetings with families of those who served in Afghanistan. Six Irish Guards also took part in ceremonial duties at the royal wedding shortly after returning from Afghanistan. A statue to commemorate the regiment was unveiled on Friday, part of a two-day Armed Forces Day programme which has seen events held across the UK. In Edinburgh, a parade of 2,500 military personnel, veterans and cadets is taking place along the Royal Mile. The celebrations are being attended by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, as well as Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond.Meanwhile in Manchester, the work of servicemen and women is being celebrated at an event with live music from the Royal Artillery Band and taster sessions with Civilian Military Fitness. And in Liverpool, a service is taking place in the city's Anglican Cathedral ahead of a parade led by the band of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.Prince William is the Irish Guards' first royal colonel and wore the regiment's uniform on his wedding day. The guards were formed in 1900 in recognition of the actions of Irish regiments in the Boer War. The unit is heavily involved in ceremonial duties, but it has also been actively involved in the fighting in Afghanistan. The 1st Battalion Irish Guards returned to the UK in April following a six-month tour in Afghanistan where one of their roles was mentoring the Afghan National Army.

Catherine and William in their Official Tour Portrait

There have been quite some silence here, in the latest days.
That's because everything the newspapers have been talking about is basically Pippa - will she model for Usher's lingerie line?does she copy Catherine's style?, is she dating Harry? - while Catherine was only interesting for the amletic question: 'does she have a personal stylist or not?'. The question everyone has always asked and especially now, for she is about to leave for her Canadian and American tour.

A lot have been written about this. Personally I'm so NOT into this business!

I know commoners which have much more than a personal stylist just because they can afford it. They don't have to smile in front of the cameras, go at high profile events or get to be in very HHHQ pictures, still they have personal assistants because they like to. I don't mean to make any judgement on this, but I just wonder why shouldn't Kate have someone who works on her hair, body, and dresses. Especially since everyone knows that a big majority of people will look at her pictures just to notice something wrong or out of its place!

I hope you're helped in everything, CAT, honestly. At least now that you're in the very beginning of your married woman life. People don't really know you yet, and whatever thing you say or do could make them get a wrong impression or something that it's not. And wrong impressions are about the looks either.

So that's my point about it.

I would also like to say that it's a shame to see her wearing same outfits. I just don't understand the reason why she does that. It won't help economy wearing the same expensive coat or dress twice, but it would be sure nice to show people how glamourous you can be by picking real low cost dresses.

And for low cost I mean real low cost. She's been idolized for wearing a 340£ dress at her meeting with the Obamas. What? I'm thinking that i am much poorer than what i thought if 340£ is a little price for just THE DRESS. Where I live, only the richest chicks could afford anything like that for our annual school parties and still now to buy something like that is very high profile. My mind is just thinking at Pinko party dresses, for it was the most glamourous shop we had in our city at the time.

Maybe Cat's dress can be cheap for the world she lives in, but not really for normal people. She's still showing us that we should be able to buy that kind of things to be perfect. So I mean what's the point in acting like this? And also wearing the same outfits, I seriously doubts that the average of people can wear stuff only once. The average wear the same pair of jeans twice a week for 3 years.

The press should stop seeing what's not there in her clothing choices. And for CAT, we know that you were rich as hell and you're also richer now that you're married to him, stop acting like you're not getting something to be close to your people!

We'll love you even more. :D

That said, i want to introduce to you guys Catherine and William's beautiful shot for their Canadian and American tour. (Click on it to see a larger version)

It is set to start on June 30, they will stay in Canada for nice days. After that, they will leave for some time in California. During their trip they will attend charitable events and visit schools.

Here it is the official statement: here. :)

For the picture, Catherine recycled an Amanda Wakeley navy skirt suit she wore when she visited Darwen (Lancashire) some time before her wedding to Prince William.

I think she's looking just great and i cannot hide anymore my big big crush for her hair.

Stay tuned :)

Catherine celebrates the Queen's Birthday

In June, waiting for the weather to be just great, it is customary to celebrate publicly Queen Elizabeth's birthday. Her real day of birth is on April 21st, though. Of course Catherine was there for this event, together with her husband William.

Informations about what she is wearing: her outfit comes from the "Resort 2011" collection by Alexander McQueen. Her cute hat was a creation by Philip Treacy.
I just think it perfectly suits her. She looks just beautiful and her smile shining. The one following is a bigger picture where we can see her enchanting look.

At the Order of Garter service festivity

Catherine's definitely having a pretty busy schedule in the last days! Windsor got the opportunity, on Monday, to see her while celebrating William's nomination into The Order of the Garter, which is the highest British Order of Chivalry and also the oldest, founded in 1348. Membership in the order is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales, and no more than twenty-four members, or Companions. (Thanks to Wikipedia). The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, was there also. Catherine looked incredible in my opinion!

This color is perfect on her. And, wow. I never was an English hats LOVER but I must confess that she's so changing my mind! What do you think about this and do you like her outfit? Here's more pictures where you can also see Camilla.

Her smile and her beauty cannot be described :)

And she has the most beautiful hair in the whole world.

That definitely made my day. ♥
Stay tuned !!!

Catherine and Filippa at their friend's wedding

Last Saturday our favourite girl, after the Queen's birthday public celebration, also attended another social event. Together with her sister Filippa, she was one of the guests at a Berkshire friend's wedding.

She wanted to change her outfit into a very cute white and black dress, keeping the same hat she had a few hours before. She also changed her earrings.
Here's other pictures of the two. :)

but my favourite is this one ♥

My idea about her outfit is that the dress was perfect for the occasion, and i believe it made her feel a lot comfortable, too. Honestly I love the design but I'm not really into the pattern. Thought she could find better. Sorry CAT.

What can I say about Filippa? I kind of like her but what she's wearing is just awful! Sorry, Filippa. I will still post a nice photo of you.

That's for you Filippa fans. I know you're there. Enjoy it ;)
